5 Questions With The December 2024 #DryTortugas Photo Contest Winner

Meet Stefanie Freudenberg, our December 2024 #DryTortugas Photo Contest winner. We had the chance to ask her a few questions about her experience at the Dry Tortugas National Park. Read on to learn how she captured her amazing photo!

1. When did you visit the Dry Tortugas National Park? Did you arrive by seaplane, the Yankee Freedom ferry, or another way?
I was at Dry Tortugas April 18th 2024.

2. If you arrived by the Yankee Freedom, how was your ferry trip?
We took the Yankee Freedom. The ferry trip was good, the seas were pretty choppy that day but we had a great time. 

3. How did you capture your winning photo? What inspired you to take it? Did you use any cool camera gear?
I have a passion for birds they are just amazing animals. This was one of the main reasons I came to Dry Tortugas was for the birds. I used my Canon rebel t7. The lense used was the 75-300mm. 

4. What made your trip to the Dry Tortugas memorable?
Honestly everything, from my family I went with, the strangers on the ferry, the amazing staff, the beautiful reefs were amazing so beautiful, the Birds were gorgeous. This trip was everything I was hoping for and more.

5. What do you plan to do with your National Park Annual Pass?
Possibly plan a road trip.
